Urban Word NYC Teen Poetry Slam honors all styles of poetry, spoken word, hip-hop and manifesto. To qualify, teens must be between the ages of 13-19. First preliminary slam is March 4th, 6PM-8PM at Dweck Center, Brooklyn Public Library.
Teens have the opportunity to perform on stage at Apollo Theater, represent NYC at the Brace New Voices National Poetry Festival, and win an all-expenses-paid trip to Las Vegas to compete against teens from all over the country.
