Theater Production Crash Course: PD Training for Non Theater Licensed Teachers who Teach/Direct Theater

Enhance your theater teaching direction, and production as well as learn how to better engage students in the process of theater. Back by popular demand, participate in a professional development for non-theater licensed teachers who seek more direct developmental training to better produce a show and/or incorporate more theater in your classes and school program. Join us for an innovative, inspiring and quite pragmatic series featuring two days of workshops and sessions professional theater companies. Master teaching artists will facilitate the PD, provide context and also lead sessions on effective approaches to producing a play or musical, to structuring a rehearsal or class. The rehearsal process is a dynamic forum for teaching and learning beyond working on a show. Non-theater teachers explore all aspects of working to produce a play or musical.
Whether preparing how to best use limited rehearsal time, working on individual performer's ability to act, or staging scenes with large ensembles, this workshop will focus on theatre production from planning to curtain. Our process will include ongoing focused reflection on the implications for individual as well as collaborative instruction. Workshop sessions will include adaptable and practical directing exercises.
